Smoked Salt Steak Rub
Add A Hint Of Smoke
- ½ cup smoked salt
- 1 tbsp. cracked black peppercorns
- 2 tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds
In a small bowl combine everything but the cumin and mustard seeds.
In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, toast the mustard and cumin seeds for about 1 minute or until they’re a golden brown. remove them from the heat and let cool.
Add the seeds to the smoked salt mixture.
Store in an airtight container, in a cool and dry place.
This is a fantastic Steak Rub. It’s pretty easy to make and lasts a while when stored properly.
