Eggs Benedict Burgers
Breakfast For Dinner?
Bun, lettuce, bacon, burger, egg, sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. The Burger Seasoning
- 2 tsp. dill
- 2 tsp. lemon pepper
- 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup of Hollandaise Sauce
- 4 eggs poached soft
- 8 slices of peameal bacon
- 4 large buns
- lettuce for serving
In a large bowl, combine the beef, onion, seasonings, egg and Worcestershire sauce. Mix with your hands, and don't forget to use the coldest beef you possibly can. Form the beef into 4 huge patties. Place on a tray lined with waxed paper and chill them for 15 minutes at least.
While the patties are chilling, make the Hollandaise sauce. Set aside and keep warm.
Preheat the grill to medium-high, about 400°F. Grill the burgers over direct heat for 6 to 8 minutes per side. Grill the peameal bacon on the warming rack above the burgers.
Toast the buns and poach the eggs.
Assemble the burgers, starting with lettuce on the bottom bun (maybe with a small dollop of sauce) then the bacon, followed by the hamburger, the poached egg and then drench it all in sauce.
Eggs Benedict Burgers - Breakfast for Dinner? These burgers are, on a scale of one to 10, way not healthy. That being said, they are, using the same scale, at least a 20 in the taste department. And don't get me started on messy. But sometimes the most delicious things are, aren't they? Okay, so you have delicious, and messy and burger in one package. What could possibly make it better? BACON. Yep. Oh and Hollandaise.
Okay so I saw a random image on a random web search, I don't even remember what I was looking for, but I saw a runny poached egg on top of a huge burger and a fountain of hollandaise sauce bringing the whole thing together. I thought, why not? So there you have it. The best breakfast food ever atop the best sandwich food ever. What could possibly go wrong. Well, nothing really!
