Tahini Marinated Pork Chops

Tahini Marinated Pork Chops

On a bed of rice

Posted on October 01, 2015
I had these amazing thick pork chops and didn't know what to do with them. Apparently we get bored easily in the Sizzle household, because my husband was pretty "meh" about these too. But suddenly, our stomachs growled and said - Tahini Marinated Pork Chops! Okay, that didn't really happen exactly like that, but you get the idea. We suddenly had a craving for something a little bit international.

Grilled Chicken Carbonara

Grilled Chicken Carbonara

With Homemade Bacon

Posted on September 22, 2015
Do you still have bacon ends after making homemade bacon? OR do you have a craving for bacon and don't want to make pancakes or something? Well this classy meal is just for you. Grilled Chicken Carbonara With Homemade Bacon is the perfect way to use up leftover bacon, impress someone, and have a great pasta meal in less than an hour. Grilled Chicken Carbonara was one of those recipes that I hadn't tackled before because I thought it was too easy to screw up, so I was scared. It IS easy to mess this recipe up, but if you do it right, you are rewarded. Also. Bacon.

Bacon Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Bacon Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

On The Grill

Posted on September 22, 2015
When you slice your newly homemade bacon, you invariably get bits, chunks, slices that aren't pretty, and leavings. You can't just toss these little scraps. That would be offensive. You would be arrested by the Bacon Police for crimes against the bacon! That's where these Bacon Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins come in. I used some of the bacon ends in these delicious breakfast muffins that do more than smell delicious. They're fairly healthy, you can make them gluten free and egg free easily. There is little sugar in these too. Until you add the chocolate chips. But if you're REALLY being health conscious with these bacon-full muffins, craisins are a great addition instead.

Roasted Duck Legs

Roasted Duck Legs

Glazed With Plum Sauce

Posted on September 14, 2015
I really enjoy the deep savory flavor of duck. It's getting easier to find, but it's still a pretty expensive meat. I wanted to use the last of those delightful in season plums, and knew that the naturally salty flavor of the duck would mesh beautifully with the sweet and smoky flavor of the plums. That's how Roasted Duck Legs Glazed With Plum Sauce was born. I learned the hard way that garlic can quickly overpower the plums when making the sauce, but when all was said and done, everything worked out in the end.

I served this meal with some roasted potatoes, tossed with fresh dill and gouda, as well as roasted broccoli, just lightly salted. All in all, a well rounded and delicious meal.

Smokey Southwest Chicken Legs

Smokey Southwest Chicken Legs

With Cattle BoyZ Smokey Southwest Seasoning

Posted on September 08, 2015
Smokey Southwest Chicken Legs came about when I wanted to pair dinner with my Corona. We had extra limes, so it worked out perfectly. The best part about this meal? After seasoning everything, and searing the meat, you just let it roast on the grill until it's ready. Then you serve it with a squeeze of lime to finish. Super simple, superbly easy, deliriously delicious.

Peachy Porkebabs

Peachy Porkebabs

On A Bed Of Rice

Posted on August 25, 2015
Peaces are spectacular, sweet and juicy. But they' not just for desserts. These Peachy Porkebabs prove that. I bought a basket of peaches at the farmers market and knew that I couldn't eat them all, no matter how hard I tried. So I decided that they needed to be cooked in to things. But not just desserts, however sweet my sweet tooth is, I don't think that baking a bunch of peach pies and cakes, and other sweet treats was going to cut it, especially on a grilling blog. I needed to go savory, but how? Pork, is good with apples. Apples are round and sweet, they're a fruit, so are peaches. YES! That's it. I will make a peach barbecue sauce to go with my pork.

Grilled Bacon Lettuce And Tomato Sandwiches

Grilled Bacon Lettuce And Tomato Sandwiches

Introducing the GLT

Posted on August 18, 2015
Bacon is a treat for some. For others, myself and the husband included, it's weekend required eating. When asked what she would like to eat after a successfull Girl's Night In, my firend really wasn't up for eggs. What can I say, it was a big Bison Steak dinner! But, the thought of bacon was too much to turn down so instead I decided on BLT's for breakfast. So here I am prepping the ingredients, mulling over the acronym "BLT", I suddenly thought G.L.T!! Lightbulb! Grilled Bacon Lettuce And Tomato Sandwiches! YES! They were exquisite, by the way.

Chicken Flautas

Chicken Flautas

With Avocado Cream

Posted on August 18, 2015
Chicken Flautas With Avocado Cream are a Mexican dish that came out of nowhere. I hadn't heard of them until a coworker asked me if I had had one before. Nope, but they sound absolutely delicious! I must make some! So I did. Basically it's a fried chicken stuffed soft taco-burrito-thingy. They're sometimes called/confused with toquitos, which are very similar, but Flautas are larger and longer. So here is my take on the Chicken Flauta. (By the way they're really delicious.)

Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon

Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon

With Sweet Potato Fries

Posted on August 11, 2015
An elegant meal that is perfect for your next special occasion, Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon With Sweet Potato Fries was tender and delicious. The first official meal that I grilled at our new house, I thought it was about time to celebrate. It also happens to be Filet Mignon Day on August 13th - hey my lucky number! Sure you can just grill up a filet and be done with it, but I wanted to do something a little bit special. When you go to the butcher, ask for the cut you like the look of best, thickness and color is important. Then season up those beauties on all sides before wrapping with bacon and a secret ingredient.
