Eggs in a Basket

Eggs in a Basket

with COBS Bread Pane Di Casa Bread

Posted on August 10, 2016
My mother used to make me what she lovingly called toad in the hole. Eggs in a Basket with COBS Bread Pane Di Casa Bread is a variation of that childhood recipe. Some people, like myself, aren’t a huge fan of the heel on a loaf of bread, even if that loaf is from a delicious bread like COBS’ Pane Di Casa. Instead of letting it go to waste, I took the heels and turned them into a delectable breakfast that would make mother proud.

Planked S’mores

Planked S’mores

with Homemade Marshmallows

Posted on August 10, 2016
National S’mores Day occurs every 10th of August and this year we wanted to take part by making something extra special! Planked S’mores with Homemade Marshmallows! Homemade marshmallows are rich, fun, and surprisingly easy to make. Turning them into s’mores seemed like the logical next step. Making S’mores on the grill, even more so. Dazzle your friends, family, and guests with these sweet treats. It takes about 45 minutes to make the marshmallows themselves; the trick is having the patience to let them set. Once set, it’s the work of a moment to get these beauties grilling for an amazing dessert of ultra homemade S’mores.

Homemade Lasagna

Homemade Lasagna

Homemade Lasagna With Meat and Three Cheeses

Posted on July 27, 2016
My favorite meal to share with my husband’s family is his mother’s lasagna. It is a fond childhood memory. I remember my own mother making it years ago too.  As it happens to be National Lasagna Day, I decided to pay homage to our fond childhood memories, and made my own Homemade Lasagna With Meat and Three Cheeses. I started with my Mother-in-Law's recipe, then I put a bit of a grilled spin on it, but I think you’ll like the results as much as we did.

National French Fry Day is definitely a day to observe. Fries have got to be the most versatile side dish ever created. They’re as addictive as crispy potato chips, but soft and fluffy inside like mashed potatoes. This makes them easy to be paired with just about any meal. Making Super Loaded Buffalo Chicken Cheesy Fries the ideal expression of your French fry addiction adoration. Smother them with love - I mean spicy and saucy chicken, cheese and all of the other fixin’s. This is a flavorful nosh that everyone will devour.

Macaroni And Cheese

Macaroni And Cheese

with Caramelized Onions And Bacon

Posted on July 06, 2016
I chose to celebrate National Macaroni Day by making Macaroni And Cheese with Caramelized Onions And Bacon, because you can’t party down without bacon. Sweet caramelized onions, salty Havarti cheese, notes of hickory-smoked bacon all fuse to create the creamiest, gooiest, most lush macaroni and cheese dish ever experienced by your tongue. Plus it’s extra super fancy from the double elbow – cavatappi pasta.

Gourmet Steak Pizza

Gourmet Steak Pizza

on Cheese, Herb & Garlic Mini Focaccia

Posted on June 15, 2016
If you’re creative enough just about anything can become pizza. Gourmet Steak Pizza on Cheese, Herb & Garlic Mini Focaccia proves that. I used very fresh ingredients for this recipe, and you can taste the difference. The tomatoes served as the sauce instead of using a traditional tomato sauce. I did this because I didn’t want to top the cheesy goodness of the fresh herbed focaccia with anything that would mask its delicious flavor. Instead, I enhanced the delicate herb and cheese flavor by adding succulent steak slices and red onion.

Steam Whistle Pilsner Marinade

Steam Whistle Pilsner Marinade

Perfect for beef

Posted on June 12, 2016

A pilsner, like Steam Whistle, is the perfect addition to any marinade. The acidity in the liquids of your marinade will soften the connective tissues in the meat you are marinating, making the meal not only more flavorful, but even more tender. Using a lighter beer, like Steam Whistle, helps keep things light as well. Your meal won't feel weighted down by the marinade you use. Try it on a beef roast, or lamb chops tonight.

Grilled French Toast

Grilled French Toast

with Cinnamon Sugar Walnuts

Posted on June 08, 2016
Grilled French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar Walnuts is the perfect weekend breakfast. Using a sturdy loaf of Italian Style Bread, like COBS Bread Pane di Casa, is ideal. The thin, yet crispy crust holding the fluffiest bread imaginable is superb for grilling directly on your cooking grids. The resulting slightly smoky, sweet, bread-pudding-like texture is what French toast is all about. I added some Cinnamon Sugar Walnuts and then yelled, “Bring on the Maple Syrup”!

BLT with Egg

BLT with Egg

on a COBS Bread Sourdough Roll

Posted on June 08, 2016
The BLT is made better with an egg and perfected when put on a COBS Bread Sourdough Roll. I know what you’re thinking. You are thinking that they’re just rolls, you eat them with butter at supper. I’m sorry; I can’t do that. It would be sacrilicious. I mean, yeah, they’re good as dinner rolls to accompany some sort of grilled delight, but why stop there? Why not worship a little roll of the best bread flavor – sourdough is a flavor right? – by making these buns of heavenly deliciousness into a breakfast that would top all of the top ten sandwich lists.
