Super Perogies

Super Perogies

With Cheese & Chives

Posted on March 10, 2016
I was at a complete loss as to what I should make for supper one night. I was hungry, alone, and it was after 8 pm. I hadn’t pulled anything out to defrost, and driving to a takeout joint seemed like so much work. Then; a shining light from the freezer. Angels sang and inspiration patted me on the back. Super Perogies With Cheese & Chives was born.

Homemade Caramel Corn

Homemade Caramel Corn

on the Grill

Posted on February 19, 2016
I have been itching to make Homemade Caramel Corn on the Grill for some time, but I’ve always been a little bit scared to try it. After the success of the peanut brittle recipe, I had a little extra confidence and thought why not? So I threw caution to the wind, popcorn in the popper, and butter in the pot. I combined it all to make a sweet, salty, slightly smoky, and totally delicious snack. Needless to say myself and three others have already demolished half of this recipe meant to serve at least twelve.

Toasty Tortellini is a super easy and very tasty snack or appetizer that everyone will love. Dip it in your favorite marinara sauce (I recommend the Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce) or your favorite cheese sauce (Try this Goat Cheese Sauce) or just munch away for a super duper savory snack.

Homemade Sausage Rolls

Homemade Sausage Rolls

Fresh pork makes a difference

Posted on December 22, 2015
This year instead of a traditional Christmas Dinner, we're going to have Christmas Brunch with the family. We plan on putting on a big spread with Mini Quiche, Fresh Biscuits, fruit and cheese trays, Bacon, Cranberry, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies, and of course these Homemade Sausage Rolls. We are definitely thinking outside the hotdog bun this year. These Sausage Rolls are made from freshly ground pork meat that we seasoned ourselves and you will love the results if you do the same.

Fully Loaded Guacamole

Fully Loaded Guacamole

This recipe will get your guac on!

Posted on December 02, 2015
I've been trying to find ways to sneak avocados into more food. They're super good for you, but there is just something about the green mushy thing that I can't figure out. They're also like bananas, unripe forever, then you have a day or so of perfection, then suddenly they're gross! Just got to get into the avocado groove I guess. Anyway, I had such success with the awesome, creamy, and delightful Thai Chilli Guacamole, that when my co-worker and fellow foodie was telling about this incredible guac he made, I just had to try it. Since then I have made Fully Loaded Guacamole about 4 more times.

Autumn Baked Brie

Autumn Baked Brie

With Apples, Cinnamon, Pecans, and Cranberries

Posted on October 15, 2015
Autumn Baked Brie With Apples, Cinnamon, Pecans, and Cranberries is a cheesy, gooey, delight. Feel's kind of high brow, and can be served as an appetizer with wine, or as a dessert, with wine. I guess you don't have to serve it with wine, but yeah. The wheel was a buffalo brie from Prince Edward County. It wasn't strong like brie cheese tends to be, but mild and salty, pairing beautifully with the sweetness of the apples and brown sugar, and the tartness of the cranberries.

Smoked Chicken Wings

Smoked Chicken Wings

With Bourbon Hot Sauce

Posted on September 22, 2015
I like to make it count when I use the smoker. I mean you're there for the long haul, anywhere from 4 to 16 hours and sometimes longer. And if you're going to commit to that amount of time, you may as well get a lot out of it. So when we made Homemade Smoky Southwest Bacon, I also made sure to have some other things that could be smoked at the same time. I had some wings in the freezer, and wasn't sure what I wanted to do for dinner. But Smoked Chicken Wings sounded mighty good when you're sitting there smelling that meat smoking. That's how Smoked Chicken Wings With Bourbon Hot Sauce came about. Well the smoked wings part anyway.

The sauce was sheer mishap. I didn't want to cheap out and get some store bought stuff, so I thought I would just throw together a sauce. Only, it didn't work out very well at all. My balances were way off in the beginning. But after adding a little of this and that, and a healthy dose of bourbon, I ended up with a lip tingling-ly good sauce.

Pulled Pork Quesadillas

Pulled Pork Quesadillas

With Arugula And Gouda

Posted on September 08, 2015
Pulled Pork Quesadillas With Arugula And Gouda are moderately healthy, and easy to make. Use them for a fast dinner, or as a great lunch for school. Whenever you serve them, you will be in flavor town. Pulled pork quesadillas are another fun and simple way to use that pulled pork you smoked, without just slapping it on a bun. Adding arugula to the mix gives you some dark greens, and adds an extra peppery layer to the flavor, and the gouda a mild and easily melted cheese that gives you a little hit of creaminess with the smokey pork.
