Lebanese Meat Pies

Lebanese Meat Pies

Sfeehas On The Grill

Posted on May 30, 2018

Making your own versions of popular street food like these Lebanese Meat Pies is fun and easy. Watching others enjoy this piquant and portable BBQ food is even better. A fragrant mince of lamb or lamb and beef is cooked and cooled, then placed inside packets of puff pastry and baked on a pizza stone on the barbecue. Serve these with a lovely salad and a yogurt dipping sauce for a light meal.

Duck Burritos

Inspired by Finger Food From The BBQ & Grill by Andreas Rummel

Posted on April 02, 2018

Duck Burritos are a delightful Asian inspired appetizer that I found in our Finger Food from the BBQ and Grill cookbook. After thoroughly enjoying the homemade Peking Duck, this simplified version just leaped right off the page (and into our mouths!). Perfect for getting the tummies in the mood for a great meal. Plus, they’re pretty portable so the party can easily continue.

Potato farl layered with sharp Irish cheddar cheese, horseradish mayo, and fresh corned beef; these mighty morsels can be made slider sized or large, depending on your preference. Perfect for treating some close family or friends to a delicious amuse bouche or a special occasion meal for two, Grilled Scallops with Couscous and Balsamic Butter, is a quick and easy way to put on the ritz. Buttery balsamic tingles the tongue while savory, citrus-scented scallops melt in the mouth. Easily adjust the amount of heat with the red pepper flakes, just add more or less depending on your preference. If possible, get fresh scallops, the day you are making this recipe.

Watermelon and Feta Skewers

Watermelon and Feta Skewers

With Basil and Balsamic Reduction

Posted on August 01, 2017
Watermelon and Feta Skewers an easy appetizer that takes summer grilling in a gourmet direction. Kicking back in the summer heat with your besties and some locally sourced cider never tasted so good. I made these skewers to serve with the intention of whetting our friends’ appetites before the main course, and boy did it work! I was surprised at the complex flavors and textures. The watermelon lost its grainy texture and the feta took on an even creamier one and picked up an enticing smokiness. Punch it all up by drizzling balsamic reduction over the top and adding fresh basil.

Corn Fritters

Corn Fritters

With Roasted Garlic Dipping Sauce

Posted on July 11, 2017
Corn Fritters are delicious little cakes of corn filled dough, like a deep fried pancake. They’re synonymous with southern cooking like biscuits and gravy and chicken n’ waffles. With corn fritter day arriving soon, I knew I needed to try this southern treat. Think biscuit, but thinner, and pancake, but not as sweet, and then there’s the grilled corn kernels. Sweet corn, with it’s slightly charred and light flavor is the secret. It takes the biscuit-pancake batter to the next level with a salty sweet combo. The added pop-crunch you get from the crispy outside and tender corn is a textural treat while you eat. Dip these delightful dumplings in a homemade roasted garlic dip and you’re in heaven.

Plank Grilled Potato Skins

Plank Grilled Potato Skins

Kind of like Irish Nachos

Posted on June 08, 2017

Originally making their way onto the blog in April of 2011, these Plank Grilled Potato Skins, made a great snack for when you’re watching the big game, like the Stanley Cup Playoffs, or… Game of Thrones. Think of these Plank Grilled Potato Skins like Irish Nachos; filled with all of the good stuff! Needless to say, we polished them off pretty quick. Make a little extra Alabama White Barbecue Sauce, that stuff is flippin’ good for dipping and drizzling! Once the potatoes are sliced and on the grill for crisping up, things will move fast. Make sure to have everything for topping them ready beforehand.

I’m definitely on a soup kick; but can you blame me? It’s cold and flu season, and I have cooked plethora of roasted poultry. This Chicken Noodle Soup On The Grill is super easy. Overnight stock means that you can bring the soup together for a meal in about 45 minutes. What’s better than homemade chicken noodle soup on a chilly day or when you’re feeling under the weather? I can hear you all right now, “But Andrea, you can’t make soup on a grill,”. Well, you can, sort of. Watch me.
