BBQ Strawberry Shortcake

BBQ Strawberry Shortcake

With Bourbon Whipped Cream

Posted on June 05, 2018

This is a gentleman’s dessert. Manly. Or at least that was my intention when I created this recipe for BBQ Strawberry Shortcake With Bourbon Whipped Cream. I imagined gentlemen sitting around in their club chairs, talking about the big cricket game, raised bourbon glasses, and monocles…huh that fantasy went off the rails somewhere. Anyway, I figure that sure, a succulent steak or ridiculous rack of ribs is great for a meal, but men may want dessert too! So, that’s where my BBQ Strawberry Shortcake came in. Filled with bold and smoky flavors, and made on the grill, how could I go wrong?

Homemade Donuts

Homemade Donuts

On The Side Burner

Posted on May 30, 2018

Originally made in 2013, this Homemade Donut recipe is easy to execute, and produces a light and fluffy final product that even your favorite donut shop would be jealous of. These are everything you could wish for in a sweet and spectacular snack. Lightly sweet and airy, with a topping of thick glaze making a satisfying donut-mess on your fingers. The hardest part of this recipe is actually waiting for the dough to rise so that you can cut the donuts out. You will need a stand mixer, or hand mixer with a dough hook attachment, as well as the Napoleon Stainless Steel Wok. The wok is perfect for frying the donuts, it’s depth and heat retention makes managing the oil much easier than you would find if using a saucepan or electric wok. Frying the donuts outside ensures that you don’t have that deep fryer oil smell in the house, only the scent of sweet sweet donuts when they’re ready.

Grill Baked Corn Muffins

Grill Baked Corn Muffins

With Yogurt and Honey

Posted on August 29, 2017
You can’t have a great barbecue without Grill Baked Corn Muffins to go along with it. I’ve been leery of making cornbread/corn muffins since I have about a 50% success rate when it comes to victoriously baking this beautiful barbecued side dish. They’re either perfection incarnate – like these ones – or resemble a dried out kitchen sponge. This recipe is easy, quick, and yields results that are undeniably delicious. Try this no-fail recipe today for your next cookout. You won’t be disappointed.

Grilled Banana Boat Sundaes

Grilled Banana Boat Sundaes

Bananas & BBQ Can’t Be Beat!

Posted on August 10, 2017
These Grilled Banana Boat Sundaes have got to be the easiest barbecue dessert recipe to make, ever! The hardest part is gently slicing and rolling the skin to make the boat part. The rest is a piece of edible artwork that you throw on the grill and eat warm, smothered in ice cream. If you’re like me, you've probably made your own homemade ice cream too! Try this BBQ dessert recipe and your kids will be hooked. Because you can customize them, they’re allergy friendly too!

Pomegranate Cheesecake

Pomegranate Cheesecake

with Pomegranate Syrup

Posted on July 24, 2017
It’s nearly National Cheesecake Day again - like I needed an excuse to make another cheesecake recipe. I wanted to make something a little different than my already copious chocoholic recipes and this tart Pomegranate Cheesecake hit the spot like a laser-guided dessert – What?! Those don’t exist?

This gluten free dessert recipe is a take on the first cheesecake recipe that I posted on the blog. Don’t be fooled by the number of ingredients, the recipe does come together fairly quickly once you have the syrup made. The hard part is waiting for the cheesecake to cool so you can eat it.

Margarita Ice Cream

Margarita Ice Cream

Adults Only Dessert

Posted on May 02, 2017

Try something fun and fresh to share with your friends and family for dessert. This Margarita Ice Cream is fantastic, not too sweet, and even gluten-free! This recipe tastes just like a Margarita! The lime flavor isn’t as crazy-sour as you think it would be, and the tequila doesn’t overpower. This recipe is easy to make and doesn’t require churning. Serve it off of the Napoleon Himalayan Salt Platter Set for a really authentic Margarita taste. It adds that counterpoint to the sweetness and creates the perfect Margarita flavor. Ad a little extra love to the limes by grilling them over direct heat on the Rogue® Gas Grill. For even more oomph, smoke the cream using indirect heat.

Mini Blueberry Pies

Mini Blueberry Pies

Two-Bite Treats

Posted on April 25, 2017
It happens to be National Blueberry Pie day soon, so I just had to make Mini Blueberry Pies for dessert on the BBQ. Blueberry pie is also a favorite of someone I know too. I ask you though, why make something full sized when you can miniaturize it and make something not only delicious but adorable too? There’s no good reason not to! Hold on to your tongs everyone, because this dessert is going to blow your taste buds away!

Oatmeal Cookies

On The Grill

Oatmeal Cookies are delicious. Cinnamon makes them fragrant, while the raisins and chewy texture make these cookies nearly perfect. This dessert recipe for the grill will please any cookie fan. You won't believe that these oatmeal raisin cookies came off the BBQ.

Vegan Zucchini Bread

Vegan Zucchini Bread

Gluten Free, Egg Free, Dairy Free

Posted on April 18, 2017
It’s difficult, in this day and age, to make something that absolutely everyone can eat. That’s where this Vegan Zucchini Bread comes in. It’s gluten free, egg free, and dairy free, much like my recipe for Allergen Free Muffins. Although this zucchini bread is a bit on the dense side, it’s still pretty awesome. If you want to make this using eggs instead, make sure to beat the eggs very well, it will lighten the recipe up significantly, creating a very fluffy version of this quick bread.

Lemon & Blueberry Cake

Lemon & Blueberry Cake

A Fresh & Spring-y Dessert

Posted on April 12, 2017
This Easter season, try a light and fresh Lemon & Blueberry Cake for dessert. This confection tastes as good as it looks, and boy does it ever look good! The light lemony flavor of the cake pairs perfectly with the tart blueberries. The cream cheese icing just makes it all even better. I served this to finish off a beautiful family dinner. Everyone made room for this cake after eating their fill of dinner - and whomever you serve this too, will as well. This cake is so ideal for the season; it even smells like spring.
