Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings With Shōchū BBQ Sauce, I guess I could have shortened it to just Smoke Rings, but then you wouldn't know what I was talking about right? These are smoky, sweet, and the barbecue sauce adds that little extra kick.
It was quite the comedy of errors when I went to make these. They were supposed to go on the Goat Cheese And Mushroom Stuffed Bison Burgers, but that didn't happen. I got a call as we were leaving to go to my Mother's, she had forgotten to tell the Grandparents what time the party was at. So, that was great because it gave us the extra time to smoke the onions. So we arrived and immediately went about trying to set up a dry place for my TravelQ™. There was loads of space on the deck, but you couldn't see it for the sheets of rain falling.
With the TravelQ™ set up on a wheelbarrow and warming, I prepped the smoker tube and placed the rings. Not ten minutes later, the Grandparents arrived early, and hungry, for our little party. Off came the rings and on went the burgers instead. And the tube had just started smoking too. Sigh.
