Roast Lamb Steak is fantastic, especially when served with a lovely roasted garlic gravy, and potatoes and sweet brown sugar and butter braised carrots. Lamb melts in your mouth, but its flavour, when under seasoned, is like a dull thunk on your tongue. Adding some Bone Dust as a rub before roasting it will give your lamb the kick it needs to be truly stunning. The carrots with their glaze of buttery brown sugar pair so nicely with the happily spiced lamb that you will unintentionally hoover this meal. It’s just that good.
You know, I really hope that I have explained making the perfect gravy to you in a way that makes sense. I know I have said it before, but I will say it again, I do it by feel and look. It’s really hard to explain it when all is said and done. You can check out my recipe for the perfect gravy or cream sauce, maybe that will shed some light on how to do it.
Lamb is a great meat that doesn’t get enough recognition, either because it is very expensive or because it’s not as readily available as other meat like pork, beef and chicken. No matter how you slice it, lamb should make it into everyone’s diet at least once in a while. I discovered it a couple years ago, and love this tasty treat when I can get it. Leave a comment below and tell us about something that you tried and have now added as a regular part of your diet.
