An elegant meal that is perfect for your next special occasion, Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon With Sweet Potato Fries was tender and delicious. The first official meal that I grilled at our new house, I thought it was about time to celebrate. It also happens to be Filet Mignon Day on August 13th - hey my lucky number! Sure you can just grill up a filet and be done with it, but I wanted to do something a little bit special. When you go to the butcher, ask for the cut you like the look of best, thickness and color is important. Then season up those beauties on all sides before wrapping with bacon and a secret ingredient.

So I've never done this, and my kitchen wasn't quite ready when we moved in. So we didn't exactly have a stove to even boil a pot of water. I needed another way to cook the side dish for dinner, my Bacon Wrapped Fillet Mignon, How To Grill Corn On The Cob was the first thing I searched online. I mean sure I could do the foil wrapped corn (Recipe Club August 2014), but I didn't want to cover the taste of the sweetest sweet corn, which would pair beautifully with the beef and bacon. This is the recipe for my first ever video recipe. Asian Beef Tenderloin With Tempura Onions And Gyoza Sauce, it's elegant, yet easy. And boy does it taste good too. The beef nearly melts in your mouth, and the tartness from the sauce makes it sing. The Tempura Onions are a nice crunchy offset to the tender beef. All in all a very successful meal. You need to try it yourself. Video equipment and crew not required.

I need to eat more seafood. That's a fact. Salmon is still my favorite fish. It's meaty and hearty, fills you up. Being in a mood for Japanese one night, I decided to make Salmon Teriyaki On The Grill. It turned out fantastic. Paired with Vegetable Tempura, we had a meal made in grilling heaven.

After making tempura battered onion rings for the Asian Tenderloin recipe, I needed to find out what else I could tempura-ize. Vegetable Tempura On The Grill was easier than you would think and super fun to serve with dinner. We ate this with Salmon Teriyaki for a complete meal and it was an amazing Asian themed dinner off the grill.

I don't need a reason to have cheesecake. I could have cheesecake every day, no matter what. That's probably why there are more than ten recipes for cheesecake, or cheesecake related desserts on this blog. Red Velvet Cheesecake With Cream Cheese Icing seemed like the next logical step in cheesecake recipe making. I had two reasons to make this. One, it's National Cheesecake Day, and you HAVE to have cheesecake on National Cheesecake Day, and two, I wanted to make something special for a friend who really helped us out. In both I believe that I've succeeded because dang! This cheesecake was amazing.

On the 27th of ever July, it is National Scotch Day. To honor that I made Whisky Apple Chicken with some 15 year aged Glenlivet. Now before you freak out about the wastage of decent scotch, hear me out. It was a sample bottle and held just enough to make the recipe, and it was also not my Glenfiddich 18 or 30. I was dubious about the flavor combinations, and unsure of what to serve with this, but went with sweet potato purée which was complimented by the sweetness from the apples very nicely.

National Ice Cream Day is pretty awesome and fell perfectly on some of the hottest days of the year. And what better way to cool your jets with this easy, homemade, and minty-fresh, Mint Ice Cream With Cookies And Chocolate Swirl. Also, as it's my Husband's favorite flavor, I couldn't resist surprising him with it. The results of this experiment in ice-cream-y goodness went swimmingly and I will definitely be making this again.
