I actually made the Honey Garlic Sauce for some Smoked Ribs, and had a lot left over. So I used the sauce on chicken and the results were delicious.
Honey and garlic go together like oreos and milk, or apples and pork. This recipe is fantastic. The chicken is sweet and garlic-y and theres a little heat too. The honey caramelizes on the chicken as it cooks giving it a smoky flavour as well. Serve it with the leftover marinade as a sauce alongside your favourite vegetables and you have a meal made in grilling heaven.
Remember to pull the chicken out the night before, so it is thawed for the marinating.
If using the marinade that was used on the chicken, bring that marinade to a rolling boil for at least 5 minutes before using as a sauce. This will kill the bacteria from the chicken and also thickens the marinade up for better sauciness.
This marinade goes great on everything! You can use it as a rib sauce (Exclusive Recipe Club Newsletter Recipe – Sign up to start receiving them too!) This makes a great topping for roasted pork or a smoked ham as well. And because of the sweetness, kids will love it too!
