Most people love a good steak, grilled just the way they like it, served piping hot with a side of veggies and potatoes. But sometimes you want something just a little different. The sweet and tangy glaze of the Balsamic Reduction is just what the chef ordered. Caramelized onto the steak, enhancing the meaty flavour, but not overpowering it. Served with simple sides, like potato and veggies, to catch the juices. How delectable.
This was a sensational gourmet meal served on weeknight time. I accidentally over-simmered the Reduction and as it cooled, it became quite solid. But fortunately I got it onto the steak and eaten up before then, it was just a mess in the pot that soaked out easily. I really enjoyed dipping the vegetables in the Reduction and steak-juice to liven them up. What gourmet meals to you make on a weeknight?
