Chicken And Waffles

Chicken And Waffles

Yep, you can grill it!

Posted on June 03, 2015
The month of June is National Soul Food Month. I've been wanting to do Chicken And Waffles for a while now, having never tried them, and National Soul Food Month was the perfect opportunity to do so. This meal is by no means, in any way, the least bit healthy. But it is delicious. For added grillitude, once the chicken was fried, I glazed it over direct heat with maple syrup, 'cause, you know, I had to make it more awesome somehow. I truly recommend making this outside if you can. Frying food inside can be a messy business.

Grilled Vegetable Wraps

Grilled Vegetable Wraps

Like a burrito only better

Posted on March 25, 2015
Having recently discovered the joys of Panera (a sandwich restaurant chain) I've been slightly inspired to make delicious grilled sandwiches. Thing is, the weather needs to be a little bit warmer. Just a little. For my vegetarian grilling class, I decided that Grilled Vegetable Wraps in the style of a panini were in order. Like the Grilled Vegetable Quesadillas, these wraps are stuffed to overflowing with delicious vegetables, different cheeses and super awesome Thai Chili Guacamole

Grilled Chicken With

Grilled Chicken With

White Wine And Cream Sauce

Posted on November 04, 2014
Grilled Chicken With White Wine And Cream Sauce is a decadent meal that you can just whip up with leavings you happen to have. I seriously had some boring old chicken breasts (not that they were old themselves, well you know what I mean!) and I wasn't exactly enthusiastic about them. But I started digging through the fridge for something to put with them when I saw a container with a couple tablespoons of sour cream, a dribble of white wine in a bottle and some leftover chicken stock. DING!  Lightbulb!

Sweet Apple Cake

Sweet Apple Cake

In One Bowl

Posted on October 27, 2014
Sweet Apple Cake is a tasty dessert that has the warmth of cinnamon and the sweet fall taste of apples. Serve it warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (or both, no judgement). I also used the leftover Homemade Caramel Sauce from the Apple Tart recipe as an added bonus. With apples in season right now, use this opportunity to bake with your favorite kinds of apples.

Grilled Swordfish Kebabs

Grilled Swordfish Kebabs

Fresh ingredients make the difference here

Posted on September 09, 2014

I needed something to make for dinner one night. I was perusing the seafood isle at my local grocer while waiting in line for the deli attendant when I saw a gigantic swordfish steak sitting there pretty as you please. The skin was still on it, smooth and shiny, a dark green-ish-black-y-blue, and the colour was bright. It looked kinda good. The price was right too. So I snagged that lonely steak and capered home with my find.

Peanut Butter Barbecue Sauce

Peanut Butter Barbecue Sauce

With Grilled Chicken Legs

Posted on September 08, 2014

Happy National Peanut Day everyone. Well actually it's September 13th... BUT I had to celebrate and share with you! Instead of doing something Thai with a peanut sauce, or a delightful dessert, I opted to do something slightly unexpected. I made a peanut butter laced barbecue sauce. Was it ever delicious! Creamy. Slightly spicy, and definitely a little sweet. You gotta try this on your next meal with chicken.

Grilled Peach Ice Cream

Grilled Peach Ice Cream

Grilled Peaches In Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream

Posted on July 31, 2014

It's peach season, it's summer, it's hot. Why not get the best out of the seasonal produce and beat the heat with Grilled Peach Ice Cream! No I didn't grill the ice cream, I grilled the peaches and put them into the ice cream. This dessert is kid friendly and super easy to make. It was creamy and smoky and sweet.

I guess I should explain the asterisks on the time it takes to make the Grilled Peach Ice Cream. It really doesn't take long, but the freezing time is where it gets you. I don't exactly have a place to put that. But basically you have to wait, impossibly hard because it smells and tastes so good, for the ice cream to set for at least 2 hours in the freezer.
