Having an asian food night? These are a great addition to the menu. Serve these, the Grilled Pork Wontons, Chicken Teriyaki, or Korean Eye of Round Roast.

Serve these as an appetizer or snack at your next gathering and watch them disappear!  These are so very good. For a more asian flavour to them, use teriyaki or hoisin sauce instead of barbecue sauce, or you can change out the Fire Roasted Garlic for your favourite barbecue sauce instead.

Planked Lemon Pepper Wings

Planked Lemon Pepper Wings

Best Dry Wings Ever!

Seriously this was a delicious recipe. I cannot believe I nailed it right off the bat like I did, and the best part was that without the deep frying, they were lightened up a little too. You don’t need a sauce to go with these wings. Just someone to enjoy them with.

Challah Bread

Braided Holiday Bread

Posted on September 17, 2012
This bread is very thick and strong, although that may have been the yeast I used. It was very tasty and a great accompaniment to the meal I shared with friends. Enjoy.(Also I forgot the egg wash)

Cedar Planked Brie Cheese

Cedar Planked Brie Cheese

with Fresh Berries

Posted on March 30, 2012
Manufactured in the province of Brie outside Paris, around 770, Brie is one of the more popular types of cheese available. The process combined whole or skimmed cow’s milk and rennet. This mixture was heated, placed in molds and drained, then salted, inoculated with cheese mold, and aged for about four weeks. Brie texture is like butter and there is a hint of fruit in the taste.

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Shrimp

with Peanut Sauce

Posted on January 31, 2012
My husband's favourite treat is shrimp. I found some on sale recently and could not resist making this just for him. It is slightly exotic and very bright, which is great on these grey winter days.

Grilled Mixed Vegetables

Grilled Mixed Vegetables

with Dijon Vinaigrette

Posted on January 13, 2012
This is almost a hot salad. And on a day like today...the weather, by the way is a balmy -17°C with the wind chill, blowing and snowing ... you want something that is bright, cheerful and reminds you of warmer, happier days. So back to hot salad. You read that right. At its most base level, this is just grilled vegetables. But like Shrek, it has layers. Balsamic vinegar and dijon mustard play off the sweet and smoky flavours of the vegetables to create a side dish that is absolutely heavenly.

It is raining, like super raining. Today is grey and, well just plain yucky! What we need is a pick-me-up. FOOD! What better edible pick-me-up than gooey and colourful nachos! These nachos have fresh onions and peppers, and are smothered in cheese. Try some yourself when the weather has got you down.

Grilled Corn Risotto

Grilled Corn Risotto

with Rosemary, Baby Spinach and Asiago

It's been a while everyone! Hope that you are all doing well.
Risotto. I had never heard of it until watching Hell's Kitchen, my guilty reality-show pleasure. Gordon Ramsey is obsessed with the stuff, and now everyone else is too. So here is a recipe that, although it is unconventional, works really well to produce a light side dish that pleases all.
