With Pulled Pork and Caramelized Onions

This is an amazing treat! I cannot describe how delicious these are. You can make them ahead of time and pop them onto the grill, or you can have a little bar set up and people can dress their own pizzas. Either way you have just made everyone’s day with these little morsels of heaven.

Traditional Irish Champ

Traditional Irish Champ

Only Prepared not quite So Traditional...

Posted on March 15, 2013
This is a simple dish. I have added a grill twist, yes. But the traditional way to make this is by boiling the potatoes after skinning them, then drying them out in a pot for a while. By baking them on the grill, you avoid that step. Champ is a great addition to many meals, and certainly a comfort food for a great many.

Double the Flavour with the Grill

To be honest, I could have left the wrappers, they were a little flaccid.  Nowhere on the package, or in the recipes I was researching to get to this point did it say to fry them. It was at the suggestion of the same friend who brought the wraps that I did. Soooo if you’re not into the wrap thing, not to worry! Toss this all together in a bowl and call it a stir fry! I will definitely try this recipe again but I think next time I will use egg roll wrappers instead.

A Great Appetizer

Having an asian food night? These are a great addition to the menu. Serve these, the Grilled Pork Wontons, Chicken Teriyaki, or Korean Eye of Round Roast.

Barbecue Style

Serve these as an appetizer or snack at your next gathering and watch them disappear!  These are so very good. For a more asian flavour to them, use teriyaki or hoisin sauce instead of barbecue sauce, or you can change out the Fire Roasted Garlic for your favourite barbecue sauce instead.

Planked Lemon Pepper Wings

Best Dry Wings Ever!

Seriously this was a delicious recipe. I cannot believe I nailed it right off the bat like I did, and the best part was that without the deep frying, they were lightened up a little too. You don’t need a sauce to go with these wings. Just someone to enjoy them with.

Braided Holiday Bread

This bread is very thick and strong, although that may have been the yeast I used. It was very tasty and a great accompaniment to the meal I shared with friends. Enjoy.(Also I forgot the egg wash)

Cedar Planked Brie Cheese

Cedar Planked Brie Cheese

with Fresh Berries

Posted on March 30, 2012
Manufactured in the province of Brie outside Paris, around 770, Brie is one of the more popular types of cheese available. The process combined whole or skimmed cow’s milk and rennet. This mixture was heated, placed in molds and drained, then salted, inoculated with cheese mold, and aged for about four weeks. Brie texture is like butter and there is a hint of fruit in the taste.

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Shrimp

with Peanut Sauce

Posted on January 31, 2012
My husband's favourite treat is shrimp. I found some on sale recently and could not resist making this just for him. It is slightly exotic and very bright, which is great on these grey winter days.

Grilled Mixed Vegetables

Grilled Mixed Vegetables

with Dijon Vinaigrette

Posted on January 13, 2012
This is almost a hot salad. And on a day like today...the weather, by the way is a balmy -17°C with the wind chill, blowing and snowing ... you want something that is bright, cheerful and reminds you of warmer, happier days. So back to hot salad. You read that right. At its most base level, this is just grilled vegetables. But like Shrek, it has layers. Balsamic vinegar and dijon mustard play off the sweet and smoky flavours of the vegetables to create a side dish that is absolutely heavenly.
